Project Early Bird

Project Early Bird

This is a culmination of research that has been done primarily by myself through a plethora of means using collegiate data from multiple sources as well as resources outside of our state and I firmly believe that there is a need for this across our state, to reach a subset of students that need something to "fill a gap" that is lacking because of funding in the arts, academics, and STEM areas. This project is being presented by Oklahoma Scholastic Esports and as such will be treated no differently than our current scholastic offering.

What does this mean? Well Project Early Bird, is a way to get 4th and 5th graders interested in the world that is esports. Not just the competitive video gaming side but the teamwork, the leadership, the drive, and ultimately the creation of long-lasting friendships and core memories. So starting in the Spring of 2023. Your school district can create an after-school club and participate at absolutely no cost! If your district has equipment already and they will allow this program to take place it would be huge if the program that is already established uses some of the Sophomore/Junior/Senior students to help coach these younger students and show a true LEAD BY EXAMPLE approach. The program would have a main (adult) coach, and student coaches to help organize the younger students, get them to where they can get on the games, and ultimately where they can show off their skills against other 4th and 5th graders across Oklahoma.

Not only that, but it's a 4 week program, 3 games a week and one Championship. Yes they will get to compete in a Championship! The games being offered will be Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, and Knockout City. There's absolutely no travel, this will all be done online and at your school district that is participating.
